Japanese tea garden

Hi everyone!

A week ago, I went to a Japanese tea garden! The garden is in Hasselt; that's a place in Belgium.
We went earlier, because we wanted to take a look at the garden before the ceremony would start. The garden was beautiful, there were a lot of waterfalls, flowers, trees and some cosy houses.
When the tea ceremony started, we had to go to a small house. There was a man and a women in the house. The women was wearing a kimono. (see picure beneath)

The man showed us how a tea ceremony works. They had to do many things before they could drink the tea! First you could eat something very sweet (like candy) because the tea was very bitter. The tea was not given at the same time to everybody, they hand it out person for person.
When I finaly had the tea, it tastes like spinach, haha! But never mind, it was a very nice tea ceremony! If you love tea, and Japan; you should have to visit the Japanese tea garden in Hasselt!
I really enjoyed it!

Bye bye!

3 craft materials you need to try!

Hello everyone!!!

I love to craft! Its so fun to do, you can always make different things!
Today I'm going to tell you something about 5 craft materials you need to give a try!!!

1. Fimo clay

Fimo clay is a very soft, handy clay. You can make whatever you want with it! Thats why I like it so much! If you've made something, you can bake it in the oven and your done! You have your own, cute clay figure! This is how the clay looks like:
2. Perler beads
Perler beads are very tiny beads. You make a figure from the beads on a bord. Then you put baking paper on it, and you iron it. Then your figure is done! It's just a figure of melted beads! This is what I made of it:

3. Wool

I also like to make things with wool. At Christmas, I had a gift from my penpal, It was a wool crafting set! I really like it! Here is a picture of it:

This was my blog about 3 craft materials you need to give a try! I hope you enjoyed it!

Japanese new year

Hello everyone,

Today I'm going to tell you about the new year in japan!
Because a few days ago was new year, and I want to let you know how they celebrate it in Japan!

New year (shogatsu or oshogatsu) is the most importnant holiay in Japan.
Most businesses shut down from January 1 to January 3, and families come together to spend the days together.

Homes and entrance gates are decorated with ornaments made of pine, bamboo and plum trees, and clothes and houses are cleaned.

On New Year's eve, toshikoshi soba (buckwheat noodles), symbolizing longevity, are served.
January 1 is a very special day, best started by viewing the new year's first sunrise (hatsu-hinode),and traditionally believed to be representative for the whole year that has just commenced.
I wish you all a happy 2016!!!!
Greetings from Serah

Learning Japanse

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to write about learning Japanese.
Japanese is a very difficult language to learn.
Here are some examples to learn Japanese:

1. Colors in Japanese

Here you can see the colors in Japanese, they are not very difficult to learn, you just have to learn them!

2. Animals
The same as the colors, you just have to learn them! Keep repeating them, till you know them!
(if the picture is to tiny you can zoom in!)

3. The alphabet

The Japanese alphabet is very different from the Dutch or English alphabet, sometimes two letters are put together.
Thats not very easy to learn, because we never put two letters together in the alphabet!

4. Numbers

Here are the numbers in Japanese from 1-10.
I kept repeating them and now i know them!

Good luck with learning Japanese!
